Foundations

A strong foundation is the most important part of any endeavor.  At CrossFit Reborn we ensure that each and every member has a strong understanding of all of the basic movements used in our regular group classes.  Movements such as the Squat, Press and the Kettle bell swing are compound in nature and therefore complex.  The coaches here understand the importance of SAFETY when teaching these movements.  To allow a new client to simply “jump in” on a workout would be a disservice to you as well as our current members.

Each class begins with a warm up using movements that are specific to the skills being used in each session.  Following the warm up, coaches will teach new skills which will be utilized in the workout of the day (WOD).  Workouts will last between 5 and 12 minutes with intensity slowly building as the classes progress throughout the month.  All workouts will be scaled to your current fitness level.  Each class will end with a cool down and discussion on training and nutrition.

Lifting 101

This class was designed for new members who have very little experience with lifting heavy objects and for those of you who wish to learn how to correctly perform the Olympic and Power lifts.

As movements become more complex and load increases, perfection in technique becomes more important.  Less than perfect technique leads to injury and loss of power.  During these 12 sessions, our focus will be on teaching you proper technique in the:

  • Dead lift
  • Back/Front Squat
  • Press
  • Clean & Jerk
  • Snatch

Each session will also include instruction on some of the more advanced skills such as.

  • Double Unders
  • Rope Climb
  • Pistols (single leg squats)
  • Ring Skills (front/back levers)
  • Muscle Up’s
  • Hand Stand Skills

These skill sessions will be followed by the workout of the day and cool down.
